Dominique Apprato received the Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from the University of Pau and pays de l’Adour in 1987, France. In the late 1990s, he was a Director with the Department of Mathematics, University of Pau. He also worked in the industry at ELF Aquitaine (currently, “Total”). He developed many collaborations with the industry. His main research interests include numerical analysis, finite elements, error analysis, spline approximation with applications to geosciences, oceanography and, more recently, mathematical imaging with  applications in medicine and geophysics.
